

Mr. Newton was born in Pickens County on March 12, 1935 to the late Thomas and Pearl Bradley Newton. He was the former owner and operator of Midway Forest Products. A collector of antiques and cars, Mr. Newton loved history and being outdoors. He had a helpful spirit, and would give you the shirt off his back. Mr. Newton was most known for his sense of humor, and enjoyed making people laugh, especially with his own set of words from "Dutt's Dictionary". He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a member of Gap Hill Church of God.
In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Newton is survived by a son: Keith Walter Newton (Julie) of Pickens; a daughter: Vickie Lynn Bailey (Jeff) of Seneca; three grandchildren: Terri Teramano (Mike), Josh Abercrombie (Olivia), and Whitney Moore; and five great-grandchildren who will remember him as their G-PA: Anna, Ethan, Grayson, Emerson, and Eislee.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Newton was preceded in death by three brothers: Tom Newton, Carl Newton, and Willie Newton; and a sister: Jane Boggs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM on Saturday, prior to the services, at Dillard Funeral Home.
