

She was born on October 31, 1932, in Pickens, South Carolina, to the late Dessa and Luther Trotter.
Hazel was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Her family deeply adored her and will greatly miss her warm sense of humor. She had a special gift for making every meal more delicious than the last. Hazel was exceptionally talented at sewing and knitting in her younger years. More recently, she found joy in completing crossword puzzles.
A faithful and esteemed member of Antioch Baptist Church, Hazel found joy in teaching Sunday school and sharing her love for Christ with others.
Hazel is survived by her son, Wayne Turner; grandchildren, Sandy, Jimmy, and Doug; great-grandchildren, Selena, Jessica, and Katelyn; and great-great grandchildren, Savannah, Logan, Bryan, Dameon, Skylar, and Juliette. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill, Alton, Gene, Mack, and J.C. Trotter.
In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband James William Turner, and sisters, Reba Ellenburg and Lavon "Bonnie" Stewart.
A funeral service for Hazel will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church, located at 721 Eastatoee Creek Road, Sunset, SC 29685.
Following the funeral, a committal service will take place at 11:15 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, SC 29671.
