

Jimmy Porter Pickens – James David “Jimmy” Porter, 49, husband of Anita Burgess Porter, passed from this life on Thursday, September 8, 2016. Jimmy was born in Easley, son of David Franklin and Eugenia Winchester Porter of Pickens. He formerly owned and operated 93 Tire and Brake in Easley and was a member of Liberty First Baptist Church. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and working on cars when he was able. An animal lover, Jimmy had an assortment of dogs and cats he cared about greatly. Survivors include his parents David and Eugenia Porter, his wife of 31 years, Anita, his son, Kelly David Porter (Sheena) of Pickens and his daughters, Tara Anita McGowan (Daniel) of Seneca, and Reeci Shay Porter of the home. Grandchildren include Amanda Shay Whitehead, Bailey Elizabeth Whitehead, Connor David Porter, and Arrissa Mae McGowan. Jimmy is also survived by his sisters, Susan Pierce of Pickens and Kerri Crisp (Steve) of Liberty. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 PM Monday, September 12, 2016 at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with funeral services following at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel.
