

Julia was born in Du Funiak Springs, Florida on February 09,1946 to the late Owen Thomas and Beryl Doering. Mrs. Elgin loved her family, especially all of her grandchildren, and crocheting.
In addition to her loving husband of 54 years, Mrs. Elgin is survived by two sons: Charles Timothy Elgin Jr. (Vicki) and Daryl Elgin (Sarena); four grandchildren: Jade Lakota Simmons, Taylor Cerridwen Belt, Austin Tyler Elgin, and Ethan "Noah" Elgin; three step-grandchildren: Katherine "Kat" Jordan Eller, Isabella "Bella" Diahnn Lawson, and Alexandra "Alexx" Josephine Lawson; and five great-grandchildren: Alexander "Link" Simmons, Alicea "Ali" Raven Simmons, Denver Jack Elgin, Lyla "Bean" Harper Belt, Edward "Camden" Elgin. She is also survived by a brother, Marty Thomas of Six Mile.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elgin was preceded in death by a sister: Linda Williams of Pickens.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday October 27,2022 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm on Thursday, prior to the service, at Dillard Funeral Home.
