Born on January 28, 1935, in Pickens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Mattie Leslie Hayes. Louella was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church and was retired from Ryobi. She loved dedicating her time to helping others. After her retirement, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and also volunteered at the Café Connections of Pickens. Louella enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the beach, crocheting blankets and kitchen accessories for her family, and reading.
Surviving are her son, Stephen “Eddie” Talley and his wife Emma; two grandsons, Sidney Talley and Ethan Talley and his wife Kelli; two step-sons, Joseph O’Donald and his wife Karen and Alan O’Donald and his wife Maxine; one step-daughter, Wanda Duncan and her husband Freddie; one sister, Rheba Hayes Watson Simmons; one great-grandson, Cooper Hayes Talley; three step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Louella was also predeceased by seven brothers and five sisters.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel at 3 p.m., with the Reverend Jamie Duncan officiating.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
Honorary seating will be provided for the Ladies Lunch Bunch Prayer Group and “Her Boys”, please see a funeral attendant upon your arrival.
