Mary Ann Yates

Born on October 14, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Rachel and Hovie Stewart.

In her early years, Mary was a cosmetologist and later began her career in the textile industry. She was a devoted member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church. When she was able, you could find her spending time in her garden. She also enjoyed problem solving, puzzles, sewing and reading, but above all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Daniel O'Bryant (Genia); daughter, Karen Womack (James), daughter, Donna Holder (Scott); grandchildren: Camden O'Bryant (Kendal), Josie Kolodziej (Dalton), Erin Wilson (Trey), Austin Holder (Courtney), Brandon Womack, and Alex Womack; great grandchildren: Emerson Kate, Kylen, Hayes, Hudson, Levi, and Daniel; two brothers, James Stewart and Donald Stewart (Renee). She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Thad "Bud" O'Bryant and beloved second husband, Tommie D. Yates whom she was blessed to have shared her life with; two sisters, Sue Raines and Vicki Green; three brothers: Jerry Stewart, Douglas Stewart, Roger Stewart, and Bobby “Gene” Stewart.

A visitation for Mary will be held on February 13, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm at Dillard Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with the committal service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
