Born on November 20, 1961, he was the beloved son of Pat McJunkin and the late Floyd McJunkin. Ricky was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose steady strength, generous heart, and unwavering faith sustained his family through every season of life. He was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, where his love for the Lord guided his life and strengthened those around him.
For 42 wonderful years, he shared a devoted and loving marriage with his wife, Renee McJunkin, who was the joy of his life. Together they built a home filled with faith, laughter, and unwavering support for their children and grandchildren.
He was a proud father to his daughter, Janet Taylor (Jason), and his son, Jeremy McJunkin (Kayla). He found his greatest happiness in being “Papa” to his four cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Ezio, Rider, and Jak, who brought light and purpose to his days. He is also survived by his loving brother, Randall McJunkin (Lisa); his loving sisters, Diane Boyd (the late Roger) and Pamela James (David); and his dearly loved father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Franklin and Evelyn Lesley, who loved him as their own. He was deeply loved by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd McJunkin, and by his beloved son, Jared McJunkin. While their loss was deeply felt, Ricky carried their memory with strength, faith, and enduring love.
Ricky will be remembered for his integrity, his strong work ethic, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the way he loved his family without reservation. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the faith he demonstrated, and the family he cherished above all else.
A funeral service to honor Ricky's life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 1:00 PM, at New Hope Baptist Church, 108 New Hope Rd, Pickens. A committal service will follow at the New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.
