Roger was born in Anderson, SC on November 7, 1955 to Oveline Loftis Martin of Anderson and the late Donald Harrison "Squirrel" Martin. He retired from Ingles Grocery Stores as a manager, and in his free time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Roger loved music, especially southern rock, and was an avid bass guitar player in numerous bands throughout the upstate of South Carolina.
In addition to his mother, Roger is survived by his four children: Latosha Pearson (Jason) of Cumming, GA, Roger C. Martin, Jr. of Six Mile, Dustin Martin (Jamie) of Seneca, and Tyler C. Martin of Garner, NC; his brother: Don Martin (Debbie) of Anderson; his sister: Donna Kay Tomlinson (Richard) of La France; six grandchildren: Haleigh Pearson, Alexa Pearson, Chandler Martin, Camryn Martin, Caleb Martin, and Landon Martin; and one great-grandchild: Ella. He is also survived by his two lifelong friends: Vernon Bennett and Steve Lloyd, both of Anderson.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Restoration Church of God: 7505 SC-24, Townville, SC 29689.
The family will receive friends at the Church following the service, on Saturday.
Friends of Roger wishing to ride their motorcycles to the service are encouraged to meet at LA Sports Club: 243 Hwy 28 Bypass, Anderson, SC 29624 on Saturday at 12:30 for a memorial ride beginning at 1PM headed to the Church.
