

Ruby Morris Evett, 84, wife of William L. “Dink” Evett, passed from this life on Monday, November 17, 2014 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Evett was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Rena Rowland Morris. She was retired from Sir Shirtmakers and was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Evett loved flowers and gardening. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Dink Evett of the home, son, Don Evett (Pat) of Pickens and daughter, Gerri Porter (Wayne) of Pickens and grandchildren, Randy Evett, Billy Evett (Deila), Amy Brissey (Michael) and Carrie Howard (Preston) and 7 great grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Leighanne, Libby, Alex, Chelsea, and Hillary. Surviving also are sisters, Bobbie Ruth McKinney, Helen Pace, Ethel (Tootsie) Hayes and Diane Brown, and brothers, Troy Morris and Curtis Morris. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Evett was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Folger, and Dwain Morris and a sister, Viola Wright. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with The Reverend Tommy Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens with The Reverend Derrel Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
