

Mrs. Stephens was born in Pickens SC on October 6, 1933, to the late Elijah Martin and Essie Chappell Gilstrap. She enjoyed the Pickens Senior Center, playing Bingo, watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball, and above all else, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Stephens was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stephens is survived by a daughter: Jan Hendricks; two grandchildren: Jamie Hendricks and Bucky Hendricks; three great grandchildren: Jade Hendricks, Tanner Hendricks, and Bella Hendricks.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by one brother: Derrell Gilstrap.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 22, 2023 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
The family will receive friends from 2:00- 2:45 PM on Friday, prior to the service, at Dillard Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Pickens Senior Center: 129 Schoolhouse Street, Pickens, SC 29671.
