Walter Lee "Cooter" Hudson Sr.

Sunset, SC – Walter Lee “Cooter” Hudson, Sr., 81, husband of 57 years to Conethel Watson Hudson went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Baptist Easley Hospital. Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Bruce and Rosa Lee Spearman Hudson. He was retired from Grant Lumber Company and he was a member of Crow Creek Church of God where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Senior Sunday School Class teacher. He was an avid fisherman and loved to take his beagles out and listen to them run. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by a son, Lee Hudson and daughter, Lisa Hudson of Sunset, daughter-in-law, Jackie Hudson of Easley, a brother, Doug Hudson of Roebuck, grandchildren Amanda Hudson (Doug Fowler) and Matthew Hudson of Easley and his special great granddaughter, McKenna Fowler of Easley. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cecyle Mote and brothers, Jack Hudson, Samuel Hudson, and W.T. Hudson. Visitation will be held Monday, April 24, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens, SC. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 3 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with The Reverend Raymond Whitman and The Reverend Roland Bearden officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
