Waymon Wallace Powell, beloved husband of Avanell Watson Powell, passed peacefully February 08, 2016 at Baptist Easley Hospital in his 83rd year. He was born in Pickens County to the late Edward G. Powell and Lula Nations Powell. Loving father of Mike Powell (Linda) and Angie Reid (Tim); grandfather of three and great-grandfather of seven; brother to Donald Powell (Mary Nell). In addition to his parents, he was preceded by 6 brothers and a sister. Mr. Powell was a US Army veteran during the Korean War and was a devoted member of Praters Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and following Clemson sports. One of his greatest pleasures was working on farm tractors. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and smile. Funeral service 2:00 pm Thursday, February 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
