Mrs. Wendell Breazeale Nix

Liberty – Wendell Breazeale Nix, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 16, 2018 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her husband and 3 daughters. Mrs. Nix was born in Easley, SC. She was a retired cosmetologist and owned her own business, Wendell’s Cut and Curl in Liberty, SC. She was a faithful charter member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Pickens, SC.

She was the youngest daughter of the late William Guy and Hattie McAlister Breazeale. Mrs. Nix is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Jerry B Nix and 3 daughters; Teressa Nix Kelley (Roger) of Liberty, Beverly Nix Hawkins (Brine) of Easley, and Caryn Nix Petratos (Tom) of Easley. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Jared Brandon Kelley (Brittany), Celeste Kelley Wright (Jess), Ashton Brooke Franklin (Tim), Kristyn Hawkins Cooke (Ryan), Logan Breanna Hawkins, Tyler Andrew Petratos, and Evan Matthew Petratos; 2 great grandchildren, Jozi Noel Kelley and Bo Franklin. Mrs. Nix was predeceased by 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Surviving siblings are Dorothy Garrison, Carl Breazeale (Francis), Guynell Smith, and James Breazeale (Betty). Receiving of friends will be on Friday January 19, 2018, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home, with funeral services to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel with the Reverend Mike Belcher officiating. Entombment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Interim Healthcare Hospice at 16 Hyland Road, Greenville, SC 29615.
