Riley Ord Vance

Riley Ord Vance, 81, of Baileysville passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in the loving arms of his wife of 62 years, Joyce Ann Allen Vance. Born February 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Virginia Mae and Troy Greenway Vance. Before retiring he was owner and operator of Vance Upholstery and Vance’s Trailer Park and Rentals. He was an accomplished carpenter, mason, bricklayer, plumber and electrician. One of his greatest joys was gardening. He was preceded in death by his wonderful daughter, Marica Doreen Vance Morgan; sisters, Dora Frances Short, Lura Lester and Grace Stewart; and brothers, Anderson Vance and Henry Vance. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann Allen Vance of residence Daughter, Melinda Ann Robertson of Cyclone, WV Son, Jordan Jorel Vance of Baileysville, WV Granddaughter: Stephanie JoBeth McClosky and her husband, Mike of Hickory, NC Grandsons: Zachary Robertson and his wife, Jessica of Man, WV Medwin Jorel Willard of Beaver, WV Joshua Morgan of his wife, Kelli of Hickory, NC Brandon Michael McClosky of Hickory, NC Great-grandchildren: Arionna Isabella Robertson, Dylan Riley Robertson, Addison Doreen Morgan, Chloe Renee Morgan and Marcia Faith Morgan A sister, Ina Geraldine New and her husband, Gene of Brenton, WV 2 brothers, Clarence Vance of Baileysville and Okey Vance of Virginia Also his working buddy, Shelby Jean Cook He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him and called him Papaw. A celebration of Ord’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2015 in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Tommy Knotts and Rev. William Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Family Cemetery, Baileysville.
