Age 88, of Allison Park, passed away August 18, 2011. She is a war-time bride of the late Louis Sachs; mother of Sharron (Lawrence) Schaefer of Sewickley and James L. Sachs of Allison Park; grandmother of five; great- grandmother of four; also survived by her sisters Clara Colpo and Evelyn Huber; preceded in death by her daughter Marlene (Sachs) Vanek and her grandson Matthew Jett Schaefer. She was a graduate of Shaler High School, a 1942 May Queen, a longtime employee and union steward of Gimbels Department Store in the N.H. Village. She enjoyed craft shows, traveling with her husband and she helped organize and establish Passavant Hospital with bake sales and fund-raisers. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., 412-364-4444. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m., St. Ursula Church.
