

Carmella Joanne Moraca passed away peacefully on April 11, 2022, in the presence of her loving husband and family. She was born September 11, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA to Charles J. and Carmella D. Catanese.
She grew up on the North Side of Pittsburgh where she married and became the beloved wife of Mario Saverio Moraca on May 14, 1960. Carmella and Mario enjoyed 62 years together in Allison Park, PA and Marshall Township, PA. Carmella worked many years as an executive secretary, but devoted her life to the love and care of her family. She was a wonderful cook, making Mom’s best lasagna and banana bread amongst many favorites. She was an amazing seamstress and a neophyte knitter, loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and sporting events including major golf tournaments alike, and enjoyed sipping a cup of coffee and listening to the birds sing or the Fox News network.
Carmella is survived by her children, Michael and Katharine (Burton) Moraca, Stephen and Laurie (McLaughlin) Moraca, Debra (Moraca) and David Kulbacki, and Mark and Eymi (Moscoso) Moraca, and her grandchildren, Anthony, Nathaniel and Stephanie (Pisula) Moraca, Andrew, Grace and Katharine Moraca.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, April 18 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 19 at 10 AM at St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
