Dale E. Joseph, 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2022, surrounded by family at his home in Ross Township. He was born on December 7, 1953, in Pittsburgh to the late Edward and Alverda Joseph.
For his career he was a well-respected Information Technology (IT) professional working the last 21 years as the Manager of Storage Systems at Duquesne University. Under his leadership, he and his team were responsible for multiple enterprise data centers, storage backup, recovery infrastructure, as well as the University’s disaster recovery plan. He also served as a representative on the Duquesne Emergency Management Team and was a certified Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity professional.
Dale was a selfless family man that held his family above everything else and would do anything for his wife of 42 years, Denise, his children Nina (Schuelke), Nathaniel and Alex and his cherished grandchildren Hunton and Ezrie (Schuelke). He was a man that would help with anything expecting nothing in return and never asking for help himself. Dale had diverse interests ranging from cooking and baking, woodworking, revolutionary war history, shooting and fishing, landscaping, visiting wineries, home renovations and attending orchestral concerts with his wife. His love for Christmas time was second only to his family with a year-round countdown to Hallmark Christmas Movies on his phone. He was a jack of all trades and master of most, a true renaissance man.
The family has chosen a private service at this time but is planning a celebratory mass at Duquesne University in Dale’s honor in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Intersection, a nonprofit organization in McKeesport PA (www.intersection-mckeesport.org) that serves individuals and families in need, a charity that Dale and Denise have supported in the past and present.
