

James Bearer Gloeckner, affectionately known as Jim, was born on July 25, 1935. He lived a devoted, hard-working, and honest life until his passing on December 29, 2025, at the age of 90. James passed away surrounded by family, leaving a legacy cherished by all who knew him.
James was raised in Avalon, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Avalon High School in 1954. He briefly attended the University of Pittsburgh before leaving college to join the Marine Corps, marking the beginning of a life defined by dedication and service.
In his career, James began as a Mail Handler at the United States Postal Service, where his commitment and integrity helped him progress to the role of Postal Inspector. His professional journey was marked by hard work and a resolute sense of purpose.
James shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Donna. Together, they raised four children: James J. (Amy), Glenn A. (Petra), Timothy P. (Stacey), and Barbara J.. James was also a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren: Joshua, Jamie, Nicole, Stephanie, Sabine, Sean, Christopher, Patrick, Zachary, Ryan, Emily, Jessica, and Ian.
Beyond his family and career, James had a passion for golf. He cherished the sport and celebrated a personal triumph of achieving a hole-in-one.
James lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he made a lasting impact through his devoted and honest approach to life. His memory will be celebrated and treasured by his family and friends.
