

James Douglas Prady July 18, 1951 - March 23, 2025, James (Jim) Prady passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the age of 73. Born on July 18, 1951, Jim grew up in McCandless, attended North Allegheny, High School, studied business management at Penn State. He worked at US Dept of agriculture for 52 years as fresh fruit and vegetable inspector. He retired in February of 2024. Jim was a dedicated family man and is survived by 3 sons, Jarett (Julie), Nate (Jodi) and Ben (April) Prady. Also, three grandsons, Adam (Nate) and Noah and Jordan (Ben) and two granddaughters, Darbey and Delilah (Jarett). Brother Mark and his wife, Bonnie. Fiancé, Patricia Bongiorno of Washington, PA. First cousin, Dawn and husband Dave Sinisi. He had a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing and even took a 450 pound Kodiak bear on an Alaskan hunt. He also hunted wild boar, deer and duck. He was an avid fisherman. He had an interest in collecting things and enjoyed traveling. Music was a passion, and he enjoyed playing the guitar and going to concerts. Also in his earlier years he enjoyed attending Steeler games, bowling and weight lifting. He was also a marathon runner and ran one triathlon. He was an animal lover and owned several dogs in his lifetime and is survived by his Sheltie, Gracie Mae. In his later years he often commented that he could no longer hunt due to the love he had for animals and his pets. He was a supporter of the Diabetes Association and he participated in a fundraiser walk from Erie to Pittsburgh. He advocated against the use of drugs and was an active member of Alanon. He loved chocolate ice cream and enjoyed grilling. He was a devoted Christian and was a man of faith. A service to honor Jim’s life will be held at H. P. Brandt Funeral Home in Ross Township on Monday, March 31 from 6 PM - 8 PM. The Service will be from 7-7:30 PM May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
