
Of the Masonic Village in Sewickley, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Robertson; and her son, Nelson Ames Robertson; and by her parents, Clarke and Honor Martin Pease, of Southfield, Michigan. She is survived by her late son's fiancee, Linda Cocuzzi Richter of Niles, OH; as well as Jennifer (Michael) Jenoff IV of Youngstown, and Kristen Richter, also of Niles, whom she loved as grandchildren; and also by her sister, Elizabeth Pease (the late John) Beuhmer, Jr.; and her brother, Clarke (the late Dorothy) Pease, Jr., both residing in California; and also by her sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Harold Nicholas of Tennessee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanette was born in 1919 in Royal Oak, Michigan. She graduated from Royal Oak High School and then completed coursework at the Business Institute of Detroit in 1940. Prior to graduating, Jeanette-or Jane, as her siblings nicknamed her-held several interesting jobs, including one in which she demonstrated decorating Easter eggs in the front window of a large Detroit department store. After graduating from Business School, she worked as a secretary for Republic Steel. During World War II she volunteered for the Red Cross, working in their office in Detroit, and also volunteered for the USO organization at Selfridge Airfield. She also participated within her community joining the Young Republican Party in 1940 and also the Republican Women's Club in Southfield, Michigan, in the 1950s. Also during the 1950s, she and her husband along with another couple enjoyed many good times as members of a local drama club, the Lathrup Players. Jeanette also sang with the Lathrup Choralettes, a ladies' singing group. She met Thomas Robertson at a dance in 1945 and they were married on September 11, 1948. They remained in and around the Detroit area until 1971 when they partnered with four other couples to found Detroit Switch on Pittsburgh's Northside. She and Thomas moved to the Masonic Village in Sewickley in 2006, where he became a member of the Doric Lodge No. 630, Free and Accepted Masons, and the William Slater II Master Mason's Club based in Sewickley. Throughout her life Jeanette enjoyed dancing and also participated in sports. She was a center on the high school basketball team and in later years enjoyed tennis, swimming, and skiing. She played the violin and also knew her way around the piano, she enjoyed drawing in pastels, and she became an accomplished seamstress. Jeanette was beloved by her family and friends and enjoyed entertaining and socializing, even after a debilitating injury that occurred in 1980 when she broke her ankle. When asked to give one word describing her life. Jeanette said it had been "fascinating!"
