John J. McKenna

John McKenna, age 85, passed away on November 29, 2017 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly, to whom he was deeply devoted. He is also survived by his only brother, Jim (Beryl) McKenna of Charlotte, N.C., two children, Joseph (Susan) McKenna and Maureen (Ray) Stofanak, all of Pittsburgh, three grandchildren (to whom he was known as Pop Pop) Gregory, Patrick and Rachel Stofanak, and two grand dogs BJ and Brady McKenna. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Katherine Black. John had a long, successful career in accounting/finance with several different employers working in New York, New Jersey, Boston, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo, NY. In 1994, he and Beverly retired to Florida where they enjoyed a long, happy retirement of golf, travel, and time with countless family and friends. In late 2013, he and Beverly returned to Pittsburgh to be close to family. He was loved greatly and will be missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received on Sunday December 3, 2017 from 2-6pm in HP Brandt Funeral Home, Inc., 1032 Perry Hwy. Ross Twp. (412-364-4444). Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10am in St. Teresa of Avila Church(EVERYONE TO MEET AT CHURCH). Private inurnment at a later date.
