Joyce Marie Gaburri Barrow

On Thursday, February 17, 2011, Joyce, 70, of Baldwin Boro. Beloved wife of John E. Barrow; loving mother of Richard, Jean, John, James and Jason; dear grandmother of Josh, Jerry and David; sister of Larry (Carol) Gaburri, Barbara (Jim) Mentzer, Joseph (Mara) Gaburri and Gregory Gaburri. Joyce was a Nurse Practitioner and a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Air Force, serving on active duty for 22 years. Later, she worked for the Rainbow Health Center in Homestead, Allegheny General Hospital and she served as a school nurse with Pittsburgh City Schools for nine years. Friends received Saturday 7-9 PM and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Griffith Mortuary, Inc., 5636 Brownsville Rd., Broughton-Curry-South Park Twp. Funeral prayer Monday at 9:15 AM with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephen’s Church, Hazelwood, at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pgh.
