

Mary E Chavanne August 15, 1941 - August 15, 2024 Mary Chavanne, aged 83, passed away peacefully on her 83rd birthday surrounded by her loving family in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her cherished memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Born on August 15, 1941, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Mary was the beloved daughter of Robert and Helen Whitcraft. She was raised alongside her 3 dear brothers, Walter, Jackie and Robert Whitcraft. Growing up, Mary attended Queen of Heaven School in Cherry Hill. Mary had a curiosity for the world that extended beyond her education. She enjoyed engaging in various activities, such as golfing and horseback riding, both of which brought her great joy. She found solace and comfort in these hobbies, as they allowed her to connect with nature and experience moments of tranquility .As Mary embarked on her journey through life, she achieved remarkable milestones and assumed noteworthy roles. She held the esteemed position of Vice President at Bogies Den restaurant, where her expertise in accounting was instrumental in the success of the establishment.
Additionally, Mary dedicated many years to being a devoted homemaker, ensuring that her loved ones felt the warmth and love of a nurturing environment. Mary was a woman of faith, and her devotion to her beliefs played an integral part in her life. She was a member of Espirito, Sante, Catholic Church in Florida, where she found spiritual guidance and was able to connect with fellow worshippers. On October 14, 1963, Mary joined in holy matrimony with her beloved spouse, Herbert H Chavanne. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their union exemplified commitment, understanding, and unwavering support for one another. Through the bond they shared, their love blossomed and flourished over the years.
Mary is survived by her adoring children, Deborah A Marshall of Allison Park, Pennsylvania; Terri L Walkins of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; and Dianne H. Perry of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their lives have been touched profoundly by Mary's love and guidance. She was a constant source of strength and wisdom, and her presence in their lives will be deeply missed. In addition to her children, Mary leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to her 7 grandchildren Jonathan, Shannon, Shavonne, Candice, Cody, Daniel... Great-grandchildren. Kyle Walkins, her beloved grandson, held a special place in her heart and brought immense joy to her life. During this time of sorrow, we find solace knowing that Mary Chavanne has been reunited with those who preceded her in passing. She is now reunited with her parents, Robert and Helen Whitcraft; brothers, Jackie and Robert Whitcraft; and her cherished grandson. A Celebration of life will be held. Mary's impact on our lives will forever remain imprinted on our hearts. She lived a life filled with purpose, grace, and unwavering love for those around her. Her love of family, friends, and animals will always be remembered. She was very proud of mastering the game of golf. She holds a trophy for excellent score in Scotland Saint Andrews golf course. Mary’s most proud accomplishment was in being Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and Wife of Herbert Chavanne. May we find solace in the memories we shared and draw strength from the legacy she leaves behind. Mary, a woman of remarkable character and unwavering love, will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will take place on October 3, 2024, at St. Alexis Church-St. Aidan Parish 10090 Old Perry Hwy Wexford Pa 15090 at 10AM.
