Eileen,
I met your parents when we were all on vacation in 1981 to Scandinavia.  We had a great time together (I was traveling with a girlfriend).  I can't believe that we've kept in touch for 44 years. That just goes to show what a warm, friendly person she was. She would often mention you and Curtis in her Christmas card. When I didn't receive one this year, I looked for her obituary and found this. I am sorry for your loss - I'll remember Melva, Paul, you and Curtis in my prayers.

I remember so many good times each year when Melva, Paul & Eileen visited Illinois.  Melva never forgot to send me a Christmas and Birthday card every year.  I will miss her!

Eileen, my dear friend, your mom was the best.  She was so sweet and always smiling.  I enjoyed talking with her and greatly admired her independence andl adventurous nature.
You were a wonderful daughter and gave her excellent care.
Your mom led a full life and can now rest in peace with your dad.

I loved my aunt so much. She never missed a birthday or holiday I always got a card; she was so thoughtful.  When I was little, she took me on the streetcar to see kids' movies. It was a big treat for me. I was so happy to be in her company and will never forget her.

Eileen, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She is a very sweet lady and every time I saw her she would have a smile on her face. I remember times when I used to do the Pittsburgh press route she would be sitting on the porch with your dad and we would have a conversation always about something around the neighborhood. Also remember trick or treating in my stay would be a little longer than expected because we would sit there and talk about the neighborhood. My dad and her kind of grew up together. She was the longest standing neighbor that I knew of. My dad used to walk around the neighborhood with her and they would talk about things that were. He was just a youngster and I think she was a teenager when they got to know each other. They had a long standing friendship. I never went on the walks but he would tell me about them . I knew he knew her for a long time. I want to give you and your family my sincere condolences from Sharon, David, and Eric Krepp..

Aunt Mimi was an amazing person.  She traveled the world and had so many wonderful stories.  She gave me the sweet memory of traveling on the streetcar to downtown Pittsburgh and seeing my first Disney movie on a big screen. The memory of Sleeping Beauty remains my favorite movie.  She made me laugh when she gave me her recipe for lemon meringue pie. It will remain our secret. She will forever hold a special place in my heart.  My deepest condolences to Eileen and Curtis. Aunt Mimi shared how much she enjoyed shopping with Curtis and he should be honored for giving so much time and love to his Grandmother. She appreciated and loved you so much. Eileen you are the best daughter a Mother could have. She loved you and she knows how much you love her. You expressed it in thought, word and deed, no one can ask for more. My heart goes out to both of you.

My Aunt Mimi was the best sweetest Aunt anyone could have.
We will miss her forever!!
