It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicoletta D. Harrington, age 63 of Evans City, PA, on January 17th, 2025. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nicoletta, Nicki, was born on March 31st, 1961, in Woodsfield, Ohio to Gerald (Dick) R. West and Tonia K. McKelvey. She graduated from River High School in 1979 in which she participated in 4-H club, art activities, and softball. She moved to Pittsburgh in the early 1980s to obtain her associate’s degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh which she used throughout her career in the construction management field. Nicki was a fierce lover of animals and nature throughout her life. She was happiest while enjoying sunsets with her pets whether they were a horse, dog, cat, or whatever other animal she had adopted at the time. She was also an avid plant lover and spent as much time as she could planning and cultivating her flower and vegetable gardens.
Nicki was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Charlies & Louise West of Woodsfield, OH and Woody & Jeffa McKelvey of Clarington, OH, as well as her father, Dick West, and half-brother, Chad West, both of Woodsfield, OH. She is survived by her mother, Tonia Grimm of Marietta, OH, her children, Jon D. Harrington & Madeline C. Harrington (Francis Checchio) both of Pittsburgh, and her half-sisters: Kimberly (Richard) Smith, Khrystal Pritchard, and Heather West-Ackerman of Woodsfield, OH.
A gathering of friends will be held on February 1st, 2025, from 12-4pm at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home. While Nicki was a great lover of flowers, she also would appreciate donations to animal shelters such as Animal Friends, Crossed-Paws Animal Shelter, and local humane societies.
Rest in peace, Nicki. You will be forever in our hearts.
