

Richard Lee (Dick) Fisher, 91, of Ingomar, died Friday Nov. 17, 2017 at home. Born and raised in Dunbar, WV. Enlisted US Army Air Corps June 1944; served in the occupation of the Philippines until December 1946. Using the GI Bill, Dick earned a B.S in Business Admin. from Marshall University in Jan 1950. Then moved to Pittsburgh to stay (because it was close to good fly fishing) and worked in Industrial Relations in the Coal, Steel, and Int’l Machinery Mfg. Industries until 1992 when he retired to enjoy daily walking, fly fishing, bird hunting, church activities, reading non-fiction, listening to jazz and classics, keeping in touch with friends and surfing the web. Survived by his loving family: wife Dorothea (Alger) Fisher, three children: Ric (Tracie) of Gibsonia, Melinda Gorman (Ron) of Avonworth; Daniel (Sheryn) of Economy; and eight grandchildren. A rare and wonderful role model for all whom he met; he was wise, fair, compassionate, generous, respected, humble, and most of all, loved dearly. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
