Robert G Spengler

Bob passed away in Pittsburgh, PA peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2015 surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was 85. Bob was born in Newark, New Jersey on October 20, 1929. to George and Karen (Iversen) Spengler. After graduating from high school, Bob served his country during the Korean War. He returned home and attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. After a long and successful career in banking, consulting and insurance, Bob and Claire retired to Dataw Island, SC where they spent more than 20 happy years. There Bob was able to enjoy two of his favorite past times, gold and spending time with his friends. He liked to travel and found great pleasure in visiting his children and grandchildren during the holidays. Bob is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 62 years, Claire. Bob leaves behind his five devoted children.; Bob Spengler (Mary) of Colton, NY, Eric Spengler (Lauren) of Cambridge MA, Mark Spengler (Elizabeth) of Blue Springs, MO, Leslie Quinn (Matt) of Western Springs, IL and Jeff Spengler (Laurie) of McCandless, PA, as well as 13 grandchildren and four great-granddaughters. He also leaves behind a brother, George, of Colorado Springs, CO. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Pittsburgh on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM in St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, Franklin Park. Arrangements are entrusted to the H.P.
