Samuel T. McDermott, 101, of Ben Avon Hts., on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Mary Todzonia McDermott; loving mother of Samuel T. “Ted” McDermott Jr. of N. Miami Beach FL and Nadine L. “Dee” McDermott; grandfather of Samuel T. (Cristina Serrano-McDermott) McDermott, III & Charles W. McDermott; great grandfather of Amaya & Orion McDermott. Samuel worked for United Airlines for over 40 years and was well liked within the company throughout his various locations across the country. His work with the airlines during WWII was his contribution to the war effort. He became an avid golfer in his 50’s and continued into his 90’s. Friends received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8pm at Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Avenue, Avalon, where a Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11 am. Interment to follow in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.
