Wesley served in the US Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran—meeting life with steady courage and a quiet toughness that never needed much fanfare. After his service, he spent many years working in Real Estate, bringing a patient, even-keeled presence to the work and a genuinely kind spirit to the people he met along the way. In retirement, he enjoyed driving a school bus, a role that suited him well: reliable, calm under pressure, and always ready with the sort of humor that could make an ordinary day feel lighter.
Wesley was married to his wife, Karen Cowan, for 55 years—an enduring partnership marked by devotion, perseverance, and the everyday kindness that builds a life together. He loved Politics, and he also knew the value of simple pleasures: being outdoors with a good cigar, sharing laughs, his cat Max, and spending time with family - often the best audience for his warm wit, and always the place where his generous heart showed most clearly.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Karen Cowan; his children, Renea Harrington (Timothy) and Wesley Victor Cowan IV; and his grandson, Wesley Victor Cowan V. He is also survived by his siblings, Wayne Cowan and Marcia Johnson (Clarence).
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Victor Cowan Jr and Aurea Cowan.
If Wes was still with us here today, he would not say goodbye, he would say "You have fun".
