

Cheryl D. Cherrington, 69 of Shingle Springs, CA passed away at her home on September 21, 2010. Cheryl was born to Charles E. and Roberta (Englent) Smith in Oroville, CA. Raised as a Catholic, she always kept her ties to the Catholic Church. On November 30, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lon Frank Cherrington in Stockton, CA. A Presbyterian minister did the officiating since Lon was a Methodist. Lon and Cheryl first resided in Manteca for the 1st 6 years of their married life. In 1964 they relocated to Susanville, CA. During this time Mrs. Cherrington operated a dog grooming parlor until the move to Phoenix, AZ. in 1970. During the next few years, managed a restaurant, country club dining room, and lab technician. Cheryl was proud to be President of the Colonial Cherrington Pacific Corporation (CHERPAC) for 11 years. She enjoyed flying the Cessna 172, riding street and dirt motorcycles, camping expeditions, fishing, shooting guns, and driving her 1964 t-bird sports roadster convertible, and of course their motor tours across the United States. She is survived by her husband, Lon; 3 children, Loren (Cheryl Ann) Frank Cherrington of Cameron Park, CA., Darla (Stephen) Lynn Gifford, Vacaville,CA and Jacqueline Dean Cherrington, Hemet, CA; one sister, Lorrie Chambers, Bonnerdale, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren; Sarah (James III), Dalling, Danielle (Nathan) Blair Rivera, San Diego, CA, Christopher Gifford, Vacaville,CA, Lindsey Deschenes, 1 sister, Pamela Winters, Stockton, CA and 1 brother, Kenneth Rose, Florida. 3 great-grandchildren; Leanne, James IV, Wyatt, and 1 baby girl Rivera on the way. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 3 at 2:00p.m. at the Foothill United Methodist Church, 3301 Green Valley Rd., Rescue. Officiating will be Reverend Dave Bunje from the Foothill United Methodist and Church and The Reverend Monsignor James C. Kidder of Holy Family Catholic Church.
