Betty was the 4th daughter born to John and Annie Bressan. Her eldest sibling, Margaret (Bob) Springer preceded Betty in death. Her other two sisters are JoAnn Swars and Gloria (Don) Swars. Betty's younger brother John (Virginia) Bressan preceded Betty in death.
Betty has been blessed with grandchildren and cousins. She's an auntie and great auntie to many nieces and nephews. She will be genuinely missed by her abundant friends, coworkers and long time neighbors.
Betty's Shih Tzu, Meishi Rose, was forever by her side.
Betty graduated from El Dorado High School in 1957. Married and raised three children; Anthony, Thomas and MaryAnn. As a military wife and mother. While stationed in Germany, she and her young family visited her father's hometown in Italy and visited with his family.
Betty was a school bus driver for 44 years for the Folsom Cordova School District. Fondly known as Miss Betty to her coworkers and students, she so proudly and safely picked them up and transported them to school, field trips and sporting events.
Betty was small in stature, but mighty in her will and devotion to her job. She was a certified "snow driver" and could put on the tire chains without any reservation.
She was honored with Bus Driver of the Year and recognized with numerous Driver of the Month awards within her tenure.
Betty wasn't able to shop in any Rancho Cordova store without someone coming up to her to say, "hi, do you remember me? You were my bus driver". She was transporting second/third generation students!
Her voice was infectious and former students would recognize her by the sound of her voice from an adjoining aisle and seek her out.
Betty carried $2 bills and when she'd observe children behaving politely and courteous she would go up to them and hand them a bill. She loved talking to the children and their parents. Her family always looked forward to getting their holiday envelope from Auntie.
Betty loved the outdoors. She loved her beloved "site" in Truckee. She was a beautiful seamstress. She ironed clothes meticulously, gathered rocks, built furniture, treasure hunting (antiques). Every holiday was a celebration. Her house would be adorned with lights. Even Ground Hog Day was celebrated.
Our lives will be a bit dimmer without our Miss Betty.
