Eric was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Eric along with his identical twin brother, Jeffery, were born in Ottawa, Canada to proud parents Francis and Lilian Norman. The family immigrated to the United States on Nov 13, 1939. They settled in Hanover, New Jersey.
Eric served in the Army for the Korean war. He reached the rank of Corporal and was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) Korean Service Medal with one bronze campaign star, Combat Infantry Badge and United States Service Medal (United Nations).
After returning from Korea, Eric married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Schweickert, at the first Presbyterian church in Hanover New Jersey on June 6, 1953.
Eric and Barbara along with Barbara’s brother and sister-in-law (Len and Pat Piper) formed a touring puppet troupe called the "The National Puppet Theatre". The National Puppet Theatre performed nation-wide in schools, fairs, malls and television. It was a truly a family business with all their children and Len and Pat’s children performing and constructing puppet productions.
The Norman's were active members of the Kettle Moraine Presbyterian church in Stone Bank Wisconsin. Eric was very active in the church men’s group, dart ball league and helping with the building and grounds.
Barbara and Eric later moved to Placerville, California, enjoying their retirement years, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara preceded Eric in death on April 7, 2023.
There isn't enough space to tell all the wonderful things and the beautiful life that Eric lived. He will be greatly missed by many.
Eric is survived by his three children and their spouses, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
