Hazel June Allen, born October 5, 1915, Passed away peacefully in her own bed, in her own home, at the age of 100 years, on October 23rd, 2015, in the care of family. Hazel was born in Los Angeles, CA, but moved to Pollock pines from Vallejo in the late 1960's, to be closer to her sons and grandchildren. Hazel was widowed soon after, and never remarried. Hazel Allen enjoyed world travel and playing cards, as well as spending time with family, friends, and pets. Her final international trip was to New Zealand at age 87. At age 95, Hazel retook her driving test, getting 100% on her exam. She was awarded an additional 5 year license! She never had a speeding ticket or a car accident in her entire life. Hazel was active in clubs- she was a Republican Woman, a member of the Dogwood Society, and a member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West. Hazel was fiercely loyal to her family, and stood by us all through good times and bad. She was a friend to many, and was well known in Pollock Pines at the bank and at the Safeway store. Hazel Allen was preceded in death by her father George Wallace, her mother Frankie Wallace, her dear husband Irol V. Allen Sr, her sons Robert and Irol Jr., her brother George and sisters Majel, Mary, and Virginia, and her beloved niece Nancy, and baby Maxwell. She is survived by her adult grandchildren Morgan Allen, Evan Allen, and Laura Manson; her great-grandchildren Britton and Bobby, Brittany, Ian, Arianna and Talen Allen, her namesake Hazel Manson and Zoe Manson, and by her great-great granddaughter Haylie Jo Allen. Grandma had a way of making us all feel like we were her favorite! Special thanks to Laura Stearn, Morgan and Talen Allen for their excellent care in Hazel's final year, and to Leola, for her friendship and help over the years. Please join us in celebrating Hazel's life at the Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville Ca, on Friday, November 13th, at 2 pm.
