Joseph Riley Howell, 92, of Placerville passed away at Gold Country Care Center on September 4, 2010. Mr. Howell was born in Santa Ana, California to Joe and Nellie (Brubaker) Howell on December 1, 1917. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the United States Army. On September 1, 1967 he married Rosalie Alice who passed in April of 2006. Mr. Howell was a member of the Masonic Lodge #206 in Modesto, CA. Joseph was a maintenance supervisor at Marshall Hospital for many years. He is survived by his children; Mike Howell and Melanie Bruce, step-children; Lloyd Gabbert and Lorraine Tollett, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Private family services will be held at the home of Mike and Linda Howell residence on Friday, September 10. Inurnment will be at Rose Memorial Cemetery in Ft. Bragg, CA. The family wished to thank Gold Country Care Center for their excellent care of Mr. Howell. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of the Pines Crematory and Funeral Home, Placerville, CA.
