Leonard F. Powers, at rest at home in Grizzly Flat on December 14, 2010. Husband of the Late Claudia “Sam” Powers (2009); loving father of James Morrow, Hope Trawick, April Robinette and Sloan Willson; out of thirteen brothers and sisters, Pierce Powers of Maryland is the only surviving sibling; devoted grandfather of Austin Clapp, Jason, Jillian and Elena Robinette and Sloan Willson, Jr.
A native of Virginia, Leonard was 80 years old. He was a coal miner before joining the US Air Force and retiring after 20 years as a Master Sergeant. Leonard went on to retire from ConAm in Vallejo and Aerojet in Sacramento. He was very active in Big Brothers and Big Sisters and loved to Hunt, Fish, Golf and Bowl. Leonard was an outdoors man and never refused anyone who needed help.
