Linda Gronewold (Kent) was born in Chicago on May 19th, 1949. She was the youngest child of three in her family. Her father was a Navy man who met her mother (a poor but proud Arkansas girl). When Linda was 3 years old her family moved to California. They settled in the town of Whittier. After graduating high school, she met a young man named Michael Gronewold. She always said, “Even though we lived just a couple blocks away from each other we never met until later in life.” They had a small house with chickens in the backyard in Whittier, California. She gave birth to two children in the 1970s, a girl named Karen and later a boy named Robert. Soon after, they moved to Placerville, California where she spent the rest of her days raising her children and grandchildren. Linda lost her husband to cancer in 1998 and spent her time loving her children and grandchildren as the time went on. She also loved being involved in her church, crafting and their craft fairs, and spent many years helping with AWANAS. After a long illness with pulmonary fibrosis, causing her health to decline rapidly in the last few months, she went to be with the Lord. Linda was a loving wife to her husband, a caring mother to her 2 children and an amazing grandmother to her 5 grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
