

February 25, 1932 - March 10, 2015
Marianne Whitney Chavez, loving wife and mother of 8,
passed away peacefully with her family at her side, March 10,
2015, due to acute kidney/lung failure. She was born Feb. 25,
1932, in Manhattan, Kansas to Clifton and Helen Whitney.
They soon moved to California and in 1950 she married Pete
Chavez Jr.
Marianne is survived by her husband Pete of 64 years;
children Celeste (Tina), Cristine, Karen (Ron), Kathy (Robbie),
Larry (Sandy), Laura (Frank), Linda, Paul (Anita), 27 grandchildren,
28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren,
along with sisters Dee Halcos and Jeanette Farmer.
In 1973, she and Pete started Perfecto Label Company,
proudly being a family owned and operated business to this
day. Marianne was always very active playing softball, bowling,
square dancing, round dancing, and rock hounding, but
her passion was golf. She volunteered at St. Patrick’s Church
and was very active with the Ladies Society. She was voted
Woman of the Year for the Sacramento Diocese in 2010. She
also loved being chairperson for the rummage sale and put
in countless hours every year.
A Memorial Mass and Rosary will be held on Monday, March 23, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3109 Sacramento St., Placerville beginning with the Rosary at 10:30 am and Mass at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St.
Patrick’s Ladies Society.
