He was preceded in death by his brothers Francis, Fred, and Henry; sister Pearl Goings; and son Mark. Oscar is survived by his beloved wife Loma of 60 years; sons Daniel (Lynn), Patrick (Cheri), Timothy; daughters Marcella Hauge (Greg), Diane Goodman (Rick), Christine Meyer (Cindy), Teresa Maslen (Tim); 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Oscar graduated from El Dorado High School in 1936, entered the Air Force in 1942 and trained as a pilot, later flying B24’s in World War II. He returned to California in 1951 where he started 40 years of hauling logs in and around the Placerville Area.
He was a loving husband and devoted father and enjoyed his vegetable garden, and senior softball.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3109 Sacramento St., Placerville, CA.
Memorial contributions may be made to Snowline Hospice or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
