

Ralph Emmett Morey, 92, passed away peacefully in the afternoon of January 26th at home in Shingle Springs with his family nearby. Ralph was born July 29, 1923 in Burlington Kansas, he was the first child born to Jake Elmer Morey and Etta Rose Kaiser Morey. He was the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters. In the 92 years to come he would prove to be the Family Patriarch. As a young boy the family farm burnt down, Ralph quit school pushed up his sleeves and went to work, he moved to South Dakota where he joined the CC's and went to work clearing the land behind the Heads of Mount Rushmore, he sent the money home to his mom and dad, in later years he would buy their farm and give them the Deed. Ralph was a proud Marine his special skills were Rifle Sharp Shooter and Aviation. He built war planes. In 1945 he married the love of his life Wilma Lee Moore. They would share the next 70 anniversaries together. What a team, they made a successful life together, first in Los Angeles as a successful General Contractor and later in Diamond Springs molding 26 acres of raw land into his beloved Diamond Springs Mobil Home Park. Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Wilma Morey, his daughter Lynnda West, is son Randy Morey, his daughter Michael Cynthia Otto, son in-laws Gary West and Fred Otto, as well as his much loved grandchildren, Marc Seal, Christopher Morey, Nicholas Morey, Michael Candise Morey, Morgan Otto, Skye Disney, and great grandchildren, Kyler Seal, Kayla Seal, Freddy Disney, Aurora Disney, August Morey, Logan Morey and Reagan Morey. He was preceded in death by grandson Scott Seal. Ralph was laid to his final rest February 9, 2016 at Westwood Hills Cemetery with Military Honors. The Marines played Taps and the Family Wept.
