

Rayona Estelle Clancy “Mickey” was born October 28, 1928, in Sacramento, CA to parents Raymond and Alice Lee. She grew up in Auburn, CA before moving to until moving to El Dorado County in 1943 and attending El Dorado High School. Mickey had two children Terry (Forni) Piker and Dennis Forni by her first husband, Dennis Forni, Sr. Later, Mickey met the love of her live, Daniel Clancy and they were married for 50 years. They lived in Shingle Springs until moving to Placerville where they lived together until his death in 2000. Mickey continued to live in their family home until her death on February 8, 2023.
Mickey worked with USPS for 23 years and was a favorite among the community she served. She often told many stories about her time at USPS and anyone listening could tell she loved what she did. Once retiring, she excelled at her new full-time roll, Grandma. She loved spending time with her family, often watching kids after school, running snacks, attending school events and doing anything anyone needed.
Rayona was a devoted Catholic and spent lots of time serving the Lord at St Patrick’s Catholic Church. She would volunteer with the woman’s league helping with luncheons and events. Later in life, she would volunteer with the Clothes Closet and the Shingle Springs Community Center.
Mickey loved to travel and could be ready to go at a moment’s notice for anything. Dan and Mickey loved to go camping and often traveled with friends in their camp trailer. Mickey has traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, Nevada, Montana, Arkansas and everywhere in between. She loved to jump in the car and go, whether it be for a drive out in the country, to Coloma to see the sites or just to breakfast, she was ready!
Mickey had many hobbies such as gardening, hating weeds, reading, solitaire, decorating for holidays and just being social. She was always keeping herself busy with something.
She had many dogs throughout her life, often telling stories about each of them. She leaves behind her beloved Alfie, who was at her side until the very end, his guard never wavering.
Mickey was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Her love of life and laughter will live on in everyone who knew her.
Mickey was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond & Alice Lee, husband Dan Clancy, brother Grodan Lee, and son Denny Forni. She is survived by her daughter, Terry Piker, sister-in law, Tess Lyster & Lois Lee, daughter-in-law, Linda Forni, one grandson, four granddaughters, two great-grandsons, seven great-granddaughters, one great-great grand-daughter and many nieces and nephews.
A rosary for Mickey will be held Tuesday, March 21m at 10:30 at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Placerville, followed by funeral mass at 11:00; lunch reception will follow.
