Robert George Hill, 80, went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his family on January 30th at their home in Cameron Park, California. Robert was born in Evanston, Illinois on March 25th, 1945 to Mildred and Richard Hill. He grew up in the same town and graduated from Evanston High School in 1963 where he excelled in Men's Gymnastics taking first place in State on the pommel horse his senior year. Robert (Bob) then went on as a Political Science major at Denver University in Colorado, where he met the love of his life, Barbara (Barb) Bradford, who had grown up not so far from him in Glenview, Illinois. They both returned to the Chicago area where they were originally from to be married on June 2, 1972.
Bob and Barb then moved to Freehold, New Jersey, where he started his long career in sales and marketing and had their first two sons, Jason and Andy. After moving to California, they had son #3, Alex. Dad was always so proud of his three boys. He was a loving father who always invested his time and love into the family. In 1983, Bob became a new man when he met Jesus. He and mom became part of the First Presbyterian Church in San Mateo. Later they joined the Vineyard Fellowship in San Francisco and then Calvary Chapel sparking a lifelong mission of service. Dad loved to play the guitar and lead others in worship. His heart was for the Lord, his wife and family, and others. Whoever he met, he touched. Dad loved people, he loved to make them laugh, and made them feel especially important to him.
Dad is survived by his lovely wife Barbara, and their three boys, Jason and his wife Niki, Andy, and Alex. His quiver was full of joyful blessings, including his 7 beautiful grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored and shared his time and talents to each one: Lydia, Phoebe, Abigail, Grace, Nathaniel, Caleb, and Samuel Hill.
