

The Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at First Christian Church of Plano. Dr. Doug Deuel and Dr. Kyle Dennis, of the First Christian Church of Plano, will be officiating.
A visitation and reception will be held shortly after the service in the Fellowship Hall.
Barbara was born in Dallas, Texas on October 13, 1951, to parents Arthur Carlyle (Ace) & Mary Alyce (Painter) Taylor. She graduated from Plano High School in 1969 and attended Stephen F. Austin University.
Barbara married Lynn Bennie at First Christian Church of Plano on September 23, 1972; they were married 40 years before his passing in 2013.
Barbara worked at P & R Auto Supply in Richardson, the family business, for almost 25 years before transitioning to the role she was made for at Plano ISD. Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed traveling, especially on Alaskan cruises, hosting parties and holidays, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to read, play cards and games with friends, and was also actively involved in church, previously serving as a deacon and co-chair of the church life committee. Upon retirement, Barbara loved shopping and lunch dates with her grandchildren and friends.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Brooke and husband Kheang; her two grandchildren Madelynn & Cole; her sister Ginny Taylor, nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Bennie, as well as her parents, Ace and Mary Alyce Taylor of Plano.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the First Christian Church Prayer Garden Fund. The family of Barbara Bennie wishes to thank Jambo Home Health who loved her well, Vitas Hospice, as well as her church family at First Christian Church of Plano.
