

He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1974 where he was part of the marching band and played the trumpet. He met his wife, Mary Martha Weir, while attending East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. He graduated in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He loved his career as a mainframe computer programmer.
Danny and Mary wed May 28, 1978 and had 46 blessed years together.
Since graduating and getting married in 1978, he lived in Dallas and Garland, Texas. Over the years, he had many titles: Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Mentor, Husband, and Father.
Danny loved sports. He was a lifelong Rangers fan. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys, hockey, and Formula One. He also loved gardening, yard work, and watching action and sci-fi movies (especially Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica).
Danny was a loving and wonderful husband, Mary considered him her knight in shining armor. He was also a devoted father, passing on his passions and Godly values to his son, Gabriel “Gabe”.
Danny is preceded in death by his father, Pedro Bernal, mother, Kathryn Acosta Bernal, brothers, Pete Bernal and Jacob Bernal, and nephew, Michael John Sarate.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, and his son, Gabe, his sister, Lucy Cantu, nephew, Peter Bernal and wife Michelle, niece, Mary Lopez and husband Roger, nephew, Jacob Bernal, niece, Amy Bernal, nephew, Jeremy Cantu, and niece, Kathy Smith, and husband Michael.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Monday, July 22 at 11 am at First Baptist Church Plano, TX. 3665 W President George Bush Highway, Plano, TX, 75075. 972-424-8551
