Tanya and family, I'm so sorry to hear of Greg's death and wish I had known sooner.  My prayers for you all.

In the short amount of time that Kevin and I spent  with both Greg and Tanya we loved the energy they had together. We enjoyed getting to know and spend time with both of them.  You could tell Greg was a happy and genuine person,  so much fun to sit and just talk about things.  Prayers for your family.

My love, I miss you more than words could ever convey. You were the best person I have ever known and you made me a better person. As a husband, you loved me unconditionally and were my soulmate. I still can't believe you are no longer here by my side. As a father, you were an amazing example for our children to look up to and aspire to be. You were dedicated to being the best "Poppy" you could be and they all adored you. As, a friend, you were steadfast and open to all. Your life was a blessing to countless people.

You loss has left a hole in my heart that will never be whole again. However, our memories together will stay with me forever. I was blessed to have had you in my life and to be your wife. 

My love, parting with you was the most heart-breaking event of my life. However, there is comfort in that we shall be together again. My soul will always find yours. THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME!

Greg was a brilliant and patient man. To pinpoint my favorite memory of him would be really hard. As a child, I fondly recall him showing me how to put together the new gadgets he'd taken apart. I'm really going to miss all of our physics discussions, the occasional difficult math problem, and our weekend star gazing. So I'll stick with a current memory when Greg and I discovered SN14 from January 2014 before the people who officially discovered it.  He was so excited when he showed me the published article six months later. 'We could've been famous!' he said. In my heart, we found that supernova and no one can tell me different. I'm really going to miss reminiscing over our shared infamy over his new batch of craft beer. 

My dad was the greatest man I will ever know. He was the best dad to all three of his kids. From coaching little league to taking us fishing, he was the perfect family man. There are no words to descibe what he meant to me. I will forever love him and thank him for the life he provided for me. 

The thing about saying goodbye to Greg is that he was truly exceptional at everything he did.  But what he did best was love my sister. They were the couple who made each other better.  They found true day to day solid love.  The ride they shared was to  short but it was glorious.


Hard Throttle! I think that perfectly captured Greg's spirit. 

My wife's drink of choice is wine. Her and I were drinking and going thru wine at a pretty expensive pace. Some of her colleagues at work were home brewing their own wine and we decided to try ourselves. To our surprise, some of the flavors were really good. I gave a bottle to Greg one day at work so he could take it home and try it. Greg was in my office the next morning,  quizzing me on our home brew setup. Soon after, I made our first beer batch and also gave a bottle to Greg to try.  I had no idea what I had started. While my wife and I were purchasing simple brew kits and following their directions to mix them up, Greg went to a whole new level! I laughed at his stories of filling closets at home with fermenting alcohol bottles.  And, the clean ups that were required when some bottles fermented a little too much and spewed beer or wine all over.  I was amazed as Greg began mixing his own recipes, documenting the details of the batches, kegging beer, and making some really good drinks. 

When Greg started riding motorcycles (in the Dallas traffic), I thought to myself, "Oh hell, Greg's going to get ran over and killed".  I never thought a disease like cancer would take his life.  Isn't it nice to know that Greg followed his passions the way he did? Hard Throttle! 

I'm sorry for your family's loss. I'm sorry I lost a friend. Greg made the world a better place.  He is gone but will not be forgotten.

Greg was a man who opened his arms to all. I have so many fond memories with him. My favorite was telling him I loved AC/DC so we then preceded to have an entire family day —dedicated to rocking out in the media room with the light up devil horns at our own concert.  I spent hours with him in his “office” sorting through old photos and him telling me stories of his childhood. We love you Greg, your physical presence will be so missed at every gathering, but know you will be right there beside us.  Everyone on this Earth has a bigger purpose, and you served your purpose by being someone who knows how to love fully and without anything attached. We know the time was to short, but know you lived 100 lives during that time. You loved Tanya and your family so much, and made everyone else feel loved too. While you will be missed your light will shine through each person you have touched and we are all better for have knowing you. 

Greg I will forever cherish our memories together.  I had a blast with you always and all the crazy fun times Making beer with you. I always loved our Brew Days and it made yours and mom's kitchen smell oh so yummy. 
You taught me more about Astrology then my actual professor in college!  
I loved the many times we would sit in the media room Rocking out and I mean walls shaking rocking out To ACDC and The Wall Album.  I'm lost with out my Bestie! I will forever keep you in my heart and I will keep my promise and Always say "Yes Dear" to TT.  Thank you for always accepting me and being the best mind guide thru your many hobbies. I’m truly blessed to have known such a kind gentle soul. Greg was one of the most kind and gentle men and welcomed me into this amazing family. I could listen to him for hours explain what hobby he had dug into at the time. And of course will never forget our crazy fun trip to NOLA with Tanya and Garrett. Greg and I would cut up after a few libations and of course those crazy hats would come out! 

Gavin & I grew up together as we lived right down the road from each other. We had an awesome childhood. Greg was like a 2nd father to me. Greg was an absolute genius & knew so much about so many different things. I enjoyed listening to all of his different hobbies & always learned something new talking to him. The picture is from a trip he & Gavin made to Columbia. My kids hadn't met Greg yet & were always cautious around new ppl but not Greg. He immediately got down on the floor & they climbed all over him & had such a good time together. I think that sums Greg up well. Always loving & always ready to have fun. He loved Tanya so well & their marriage was an example of how to love one another. He will be so missed

I had the privilege of having Greg as a member of the Reliability team at Lennox.  Greg was a multitalented and dedicated engineer that solved problems and taught valuable skills to many engineers across the globe.  I always counted on Greg to take care of issues and make Lennox great.  
My only regret is that I’ve known Greg  for only six years.  I sure will miss his love for life, great positive attitude, and his work contributions.

Words are a whisper of the sorrow I feel for the loss of Greg. He was like a brother to me, the husband of my best friend our entire adult lives, and an extraordinary father to his three children. He was a good role model for our three children: Tikki, Lexi, and Branden. He truly touched the lives of many more than he will ever know through his kindness and generosity.

Throughout his time he lived to enjoy life, always seeking another creation/design/patent/hobby. In fact, I cannot think of one hobby Greg ever met that he did not master. I could sit and debate the skies and star with him (literally), discuss the lunar and solar eclipses, the constellation of the Orion’s belt, the size and speed of planetary movement and the alignment that may be visible at certain times of the year. I’ll never forget when he couldn’t wait to tell me, “Diane, you’ve got to see this amazing picture of Kepler 370”! I could not believe he had moved on to memorizing the stars and their numbers, (you know, the one’s no one ever hears about) as a grid for laying out his telescopic path to find his way through the night sky.

Greg may have been a certified reliability professional, but truly he was a brilliant genius of his time. A one of a kind, and an irreplaceable man for those who knew him well. He was a sweet, honest, loyal, kind, gentle, and humble soul. I think back to 40 years ago, the beginning of his adulthood (the time I first met Greg) and I am certain that he left a larger footprint in life than he could have ever imagined. I’ll think of him every time I look up at the sky.

Whether he was flying his plane, building model planes, or visiting the night skies through his telescope, he was a true spirit of the skies! Greg, we miss you more than words can say and I know one day we will meet again.

I remember meeting Greg when I started dating Diane in Moberly, MO back in 1990.  I’ll never forget the passion he had for remote controlled planes and watches when I first met he and Tanya.  Greg indeed was an avid collector.  In addition, Greg was a true family man, and a trip to The Ruhlander’s house when they had 3 young ones at home was always entertaining!! 😊  Here we are 30+ years later, and Greg still had passion for planes (they just aren’t remote controlled) and still shared a strong bond with his wife and three kids…..as a matter of fact, they were his LIFE.  I will forever remember the July 4th trips we made to Las Vegas and Billy Bob’s to ring in the New Year over the years. New Year celebrations will never be the same, but you can be reassured, there will be a toast to you Greg Ruhlander for many years to come! 

Greg has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid, he put clothes on my back shoes on my feet He took me into their home when times were tough. He helped me get my highschool diploma he mainly did all the work lol . When I got married he walked me down the aisle held my hand and got me there safely he was the father I didn't have we will be loved and missed. 

Finding photos of Greg is difficult because he was usually behind the camera! I have always admired Greg for his zeal, drive, curiosity and interest in all things life. I am glad to have known him and we had a lot of fun together. Most of all what we had in common were that the most important person in his life and the most important person in mine are cousins and best of friends and we always enjoyed  the times when we could all be together! Ill miss all the engineering, avation, brewer and vintner and many other conversations we had!

Please accept our condolences. I didn’t know him real well. His  daughter went to school with my daughter Ashley. They played softball together. 
He and his wife were always there supporting Tehera.  May God wrap his arms around you all and give you the strength you need at this difficult time and in the future.

Greg was one of the kindest souls i’ve ever met. I remember the nights where we would all listen to music and he would explain to me how important AC/DC is since I was twelve and only knew the song highway to hell. I remember when he gave me a micky mouse watch that I still have to this day, that means so much more to me then I could ever imagine.  I always looked forward to the long talks we would have sitting at the kitchen table, where we would talk about college and my future and i’ve never felt more supported. Thank you for always being a light in my life and always pushing me towards my dreams. You will be missed by many, but remembered by all. 

We met Greg and Tanya 30+ years ago when we lived down the street from each other, watching the kids play and grow up, Tim and Greg flying RC planes on the weekends. Good memories. Then catching up a couple years ago in Texas. No better family man. Greg will be so missed. Tanya we will always be here for you! Love you! Tim and Rhonda Hunt

As a teenager obsessed with the idea of having Corvette, Greg gave me my first ride in one down highway 36 in Hannibal. The blue convertible was another passing hobby for Greg, but the ride in that car was only one example of the kindness Greg showed to a young goofball who followed his daughter around. My deepest sympathies to Tehera, Tanya, Garrett and Gav.

I remember sitting in Greg and Tanya’s living room getting help with my math and science and they were always patient with me. He taught me how to go slow in life, and how it’s not a race you want to win. Greg had always been a man to say yes to any opportunity. I learned from him that what you make of life is your own choices, and that in rushing through it, you might miss the vital parts in it. 

An honor being a copilot with you at work, staring at the universe or in the airplane.

What can I say about Greg other than the most important thing that he made my lifelong best friends heart beat. Greg and Tanya were soul mates and loved each other more than I could ever put into words. Greg was a night owl like me and our spouses are both morning people (Greg agreed with me that this was an illness) so they would fall asleep and would be up playing music video roulette trying to best each other with songs that the other had possibly forgotten about from our youth! We would laugh about it and when we finally called it quits we would invariably be plotting for the next time we played what we could come up with. Greg had many hobbies and loved to share them with friends and family. He was proud of all his wife and children have achieved and loved sharing photos of all of their adventures. I will miss the late night AC/DC jam sessions and Greg’s air guitar (I was always surprised the local PD did not show up and tell us to turn it down). Fly high pilot and know that the kids and I will do our best to make your wife take care of herself.

Greg was the true meaning of a “family man”. His love for his family was obvious to anyone that knew him.  You are all in our hearts and our prayers.

Greg made the Ruhlander home a place I loved to visit growing up. My own kids have heard the stories of our crazy game nights. You never knew what you were opening the front door to at the Ruhlander house and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Thank you Greg for opening your heart and home those years ago, and somehow also managing to always be a sound voice of reason. I know you will be sorely missed but your legacy will live on. 

I will miss my brother so very much! Love ❤️ 

I am so lucky to have such a truly amazing father.  Our best joy together was our passion for aviation.  He is going to be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Greg's passing.  You were his world and his face lit up when he talked about you.  He will be so missed and I am so glad that I had the pleasure of working with Greg but most of all I am glad to have called him a friend.
