
and passed away Monday March 18, 2013 in Richardson, Texas at the age of 63.
Jim fought, for over 6 years, a courageous battle with colorectal cancer.
The disease never diminished his positive attitude or weakened his faith.
He had a zest for life and enjoyed every day.
He entered, the Marine Corp, by choice, on May 26, 1969.
He was 19 years old and willing to serve his country even though he was not old enough to vote.
He served in Viet Nam, Japan, Thailand, and many other Southeast Asia countries.
One of the duties he enjoyed while he was in the service was being a Military Courier.
Jim was multi talented and had a lot of variety in his working background.
In his early working years he was involved in electrical and electronics activities.
The last company he worked for was Avnet.
He was a marketing manager at Avnet where he marketed and distributed small, specialized motors.
His two main hobbies were woodworking and photography.
His woodworking creations are beautiful and unique.
He spent some of his last days making special wooden crosses for family and friends.
Photography was the other big hobby of his.
Everyone knew Jim would be taking pictures at their special events.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson and his interest in photography led him to be a part of the Focus Photography Ministry of the church.
He was president of his Homeowner Association for several years.

Jim was the proud father of three children:
Daughter - Lisa Troxell Wheeler (Tedd),
Daughter – Danielle Troxell Long (Ryan),
Son - Matthew Troxell.
Also the proud grandfather of two grandchildren:
Nicholas Ryan Long and Jocelyn Grace Long
(children of Danielle and Ryan Long)
Other survivors include two brothers- Richard Troxell and John Troxell - both residing in Cleveland, Ohio.
Plus a large extended family, mostly in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
He is preceded in death by his parents:
James David Troxell and Janice Irene Troxell
Jim has been an inspiration to many people to live life to the fullest.
His caring, loving, personality brightened many people’s lives.
He is greatly loved and will be missed very much.
He lived by the Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
