helped build, we said goodbye to Julia “Julie” Vasinda of Plano, TX.
Born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1928, Julie lived a full life. She met the love of her life,
Ray, in a dancehall in Pennsylvania. They married and traveled multiple tours for his service in the United States Air Force, all while growing a family. In 1969, they settled down and she joined Texas Instruments until retirement in the 1990’s.
Julie was the steady heart of our family through her generosity, loyalty, guidance and love. Her life was a beautiful example of devotion: to her faith, to her wonderful husband, to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and to the values she held dear. She led by example on how to be strong, how to be kind and good, and how to love with our whole hearts.
Over the years, her house grew quieter, but her door was always open, food always offered, and stories ready to be told. On her final day, the house was once again alive with laughter, children playing in the pool, and generations gathered under one roof—just the way she loved it.
Her husband Ray, after 72 years of marriage, had gone before her in 2022 to get things ready for his bride. She is survived by her children Ray Jr (Debbie), Mark (Sheri), and Susan; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is welcomed by the Lord and by countless family, friends, and her sweet baby great granddaughter, Iris, she held so dear.
Though our hearts ache, we know she is finally home, wrapped in the light of the Lord, reunited with her husband and all those she missed so deeply. Her legacy lives on in our memories, in saying grace before dinner, in our personal prayers, her stories we retell, and in the love we extend to one another.
Until we meet again, we will carry her light with us, always.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 5PM-7PM at the Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th St Plano, TX 75074.
