Karen expected topnotch performance from her employees as she also excelled at her job. Fair and reasonable, knowledgeable and fun loving, Karen was results oriented, but always kept a sense of humor during difficult situations. I loved working for/with her. Her laugh will never be forgotten. It was my pleasure to know her.

Like most, when I first met Karen she really intimidated me.  Karen suffered no fools and if you needed to ask her a questions multiple times she certainaly labled you a fool. Once you got to know her you quickly recognized the heart of gold that lay within.  On our many adventures to various small towns across the US we visted many local watering holes and River casinos.  Her wit and humor always made the adventure more fun.  

In the 18 years that we have worked together i always marveled at her ability to remember the smallest detail from long long ago.  Her dedication to her job and to our customer really set the bar for all that knew her.

In our current department she often functioned as the mother to all of us.  She gave us her opinion whether we wanted it or not and we knew she was always in our corner if we had issues to work through.

I will miss her fabulous sugar cookies and the deviled eggs she brought to every function, but most of all i will miss humor and wit she brought to our group.

Just reading the tributes written before me and I have to say they all absolutely reflect the Karen I knew.  I knew her best back in the Peerless days and she was fun to work with but so knowledgeable and very committed to her job; a total inspiration. I pray for peace for all of her family and that you would know she was loved and appreciated.

Karen was serious when serious was required, and downright hilarious all other times! I cherish long ago memories of spending long days and evenings in a small town in the middle of nowhere working on conversions with her; having her on your conversion meant it would be done right and a guarantee she would make you laugh until you cried. 
Her strong work ethics and example will be difficult to replace.  Her friendship and the laughter she brought even more so.  She is greatly missed already.  
May she rest in peace and may her family and friends find comfort in the days to come.

It is rare that I got to have someone like Karen as a Manger, Co-worker and friend. She helped me as a customer and a coworker.  There were many times I called her in the early morning hours for help from all parts of the country.  She was always willing and patient in guidance on how to fix my problem at whatever bank I was working with at the time.  In recent years we would often share our frustrations of learning and supporting the software product that we had been working on for that last few years.  She was a very special lady and will be missed dearly!

I worked with Karen over a decade ago and took several business trips with her. She could always be counted on to take whatever measures necessary to take care of customers to the highest standards and in a first class manner, there are banks all over the US that owe Karen a debt of gratitude. I wil never forget her, as some of my fondest memories from that time was as a team out having FUN with Karen.

Karen:

I've worked with you for 28 years and can honestly say I've never met anybody better at what you did.  You bailed me out more times than I care to remember.  But now it's time to rest. Relax knowing you're playing with house money now.  I do regret not letting you beat me at least once in Euchre, though.  Sleep tight, my friend, sleep tight.

It is seldom in our life that we are able to meet someone who challenges us to best that we can be.  Karen did that each day by simply being a living example for us.  You could be fooled by her quiet demeanor, but once you got to know her, you discovered a very intelligent, committed individual.  She was very special to me, and I will miss her very, very much.

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
