

Mavelene Sandifer Chandler, who went my Mae, was born February 13, 1931 in Effi, Louisiana, went to be with our Heavenly Father on September 1, 2012. Her parents were John and Vera Sandifer. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Sylvia Day, Johnnie Bernell Ray, Neta Armstrong. step-brother, John, two granddaughters, Olivia and Rendy Waldren , and great-granddaughter, Kayelynn Elizabeth Gayle Malone.
Mae is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Morris Chandler of Plano (formerly of Alexandria, Louisiana), 2 daughters, Lynda Kaye Chandler Davenport and Sheila Nan Chandler Dodd; 3 grandchildren, Stacy Lynn Chandler of Frisco, Jeffrey Michael Waldren of McKinney and Erin Nicole Waldren Abel of Austin; 2 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Tiffany Waldren, Sister In Law, Kathryn Williamson and many nieces and nephews.
Mae suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and spent her last days in a nursing home in Plano. Her husband, eldest daughter and granddaughter were by her side every day. They let her know how much she was loved and how much she meant to them. It was time that someone else took care of her. She had taken tremendous care of them for 63+ years.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on September 3, 2012 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and the funeral will also be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home on September 4, 2012 at 12:30pm.
