Peggy Sue Stagliano

Peggy Sue Stagliano, of Plano, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2023, in Plano, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and as the spitfire of her family and all who loved and knew her.

Peggy was born on November 4, 1936, in Elsberry, Missouri to Sheridan and Margaret Gourley. After surviving an incredible illness following an injury in nurses' training, she recovered and moved to California. There, she worked as an escrow officer and met her husband of 59 years, Vince Stagliano. They successfully built a real estate portfolio and moved to Plano, Texas in 1991 to scoop up property at steep discounts due to the ongoing S&L crisis. They traveled extensively and enjoyed family and good food until Vince’s illness ended his life in early 2020.

Peggy is survived by her son Tom and his wife, Hilary, her son Vincent Jr., her daughter, Mary Carlson and her husband, Jason, her 7 grandchildren, her great granddaughter, her brother, John Gourley, and his family, her nephew Carl and his wife, Heidi, and their family, and many other extended family and friends.

Peggy is preceded in death by her father, Sheridan Gourley, her mother, Margaret Kruse, her nephew, Richard Zerbo, her sister-in-law, Viola Zerbo, her brother-in-law, Carl Zerbo, and her great granddaughter Arya Uetrecht.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11AM Saturday September 30, 2023 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Plano. Internment will follow in California the following week at Green Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the general fun at Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
