

Peter Folger Decker Sr. of Dallas, Texas and formerly of Dunwoody, Georgia and Westport, Connecticut died on October 12, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born in New York City on August 14, 1934 to Folger Schoonmaker and Elizabeth Greeley Decker. He grew up in White Plains, NY, Ridgewood, NJ, Evanston, IL and Glenview, IL. He graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Il and received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. He was an active member of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity and continued to serve it and Northwestern as a fund raiser and benefactor all his adult life. While a student, he served in the ROTC and worked at International Mineral and Chemical Company. After marrying, he moved to its New York Office. He later joined Union Carbide Corporation and at the time of his retirement was a senior vice president working out of the Atlanta office.
Peter leaves his loving and adored wife, Eunice Bowman Decker, his step daughter Kim Bowman Oliver and her husband Robert, his step grandchildren, Claire, Brooks, and Reed Oliver. He also leaves his children Elizabeth Decker Sitek and Peter Folger Decker, Jr. and his wife Kaley Suzanne Decker, Patricia Decker, Cynthia Decker Bennett and her husband Geoffrey and their children, Christopher, Tucker, Jasper, and Alexandra and Catherine Decker Alexander and her husband and children Sarah, Grace, and Paige Alexander. He leaves his nephews whom he raised, Scott, Langdon, and Reed Boeing. His sisters, Martha Katharine and her husband Charles T. Smith and Louisa-May and her husband Philip W. Bouchard will miss him greatly. Peter’s many friends and cousins also mourn his loss.
Services will be held at 11 o’clock A.M. on October 22, 2015 at the Church of the Incarnation Episcopal Church located at 3966 McKinney Avenue, Dallas, TX. Interment of his ashes will take place at the columbarium of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church of Dallas.
